Program Description:
Given the changing demographics of our communities and our organizations, fundraising professionals are often confronted with situations of a cultural nature that can challenge our traditional ways of doing business. This session is designed to address the multiple layers of culture in the workplace and the community. This interactive workshop allows participants to view each person as a unique "culture" and provides the tools to create increased cultural savvy while increasing our ability to communicate, build trust, and be sensitive to the unique qualities of various cultures. We will explore situations that occur as a result of increased cultural diversity; develop an understanding of how differences influence cross cultural encounters; and understand the benefits of effective cross cultural communication.
