Program Description: We’ve all heard about how important it is to build a “culture of philanthropy” at our organizations.  But how, exactly, do you do it?  Sometimes a baby step is all you need to get started.  This session will explore the tactics that the Martin Memorial Foundation has implemented to increase awareness and engagement in philanthropy though all levels at Martin Memorial Health Systems, including a “Philanthropy 101” session that is mandatory for the organization’s management team.  Many of these small steps require limited staff time, are low- or no-cost, and can add up to a BIG change for your organization too!

Bio: Kelly has been at the Martin Memorial Foundation since 2001, beginning in annual giving.  Her initial experience in fundraising was at HarvardLawSchool on the annual fund staff 1992-1995, and then as Assistant Director at GoddardCollege in Vermont.  After moving to Florida, she held marketing/communications positions in the publishing and digital media industries before returning to philanthropy.  She is a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and has served on the faculty of AHP International and Regional conferences.  She volunteers in the community as President-Elect of Soroptimist International of Stuart and with Hibiscus Children’s Center.
